Bruce Allen Hay

Bruce Allen Hay, age 67, of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away November 19, 2010 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home in Atlanta, GA.
Bruce was born January 19, 1943 in Anamosa, to Cecil Hay and Myrtle (Hunter) Hay. He graduated from Morley High School on May 11, 1961 in Morley. He was inducted in the Army April 13, 1967 and served until April 1, 1973. He served in Vietnam and received the Purple Heart awards on May 13, 1968 and September 7, 1967. He had many careers: salesman, farmer, banker, plumber, and was last employed at LaVette Homes until health reasons forced him to retire in 2003.
Bruce married Linda Lockwood in 1969, with whom he had two children. They were later divorced. In 1992 he moved with his companion, Dorothy Burmeister to Jonesboro, GA. He was preceded in death by this parents.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Tara and Chad Dusanek of Wyoming, Iowa, son and daughter-in-law Joe and Tiffani Hay of Hampton, GA; sisters Susan (Donnie) VonBehren of Anamosa, Coleen (Maynard) VanAntwerp of Morley, grandchildren; Tate, Emma, Chiara, Ashlin, Cale, aunt; Muriel Duncan of Anamosa, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his faithful companion of twenty years, Dorothy Burmeister and her children, Dawn Wright of DeWitt, Donna Wieneke of Westerville, Ohio, Gary Burmeister of Wheatland, and Dorothy's grandchildren, Emily, Hunter and Christopher.
Bruce was cremated per his wishes. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Iowa.
