William R. Heister, 54, and Oneita J. Heister, 53, passed away at their home in Lost Nation on Friday, May 7, 2010.
William was born February 29, 1956 in Maquoketa, Iowa. He graduated in 1975 from Midland Schools. He entered the workforce right after high school as a guard at the Anamosa Reformatory and later worked as a farm hand, mechanic, truck driver and machine operator. He enjoyed the outdoors, raising animals and most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Oneita was born November 25, 1956 in Monticello, Iowa. She graduated in 1975 from Midland Schools. She entered the workforce and worked as a CNA, a laborer and a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed camping, her pets, horses and loved spending time with her family and friends.
William and Oneita were married April 30, 1977 at the Scotch Grove Presbyterian Church. They started raising their children Casey, Cory and Amanda, in Onslow.
They are survived by William's mother, Betsy Heister; sister, Beverly Koontz and brother Rodney (Mona) Heister. Oneita's brothers, Alvin (Patty) Tredway; Wylie Tredway (Judy Smith); and sister, Mona (Rodney) Heister. They are also survived by their three beloved children, Casey, Cory (Keshia) and Amanda Heister (Salter Isaac), along with their grandchild, Lauren Heister and their beloved dog, Ginger.
They were preceded in death by Oneita's parents, "Dudley" Alvin and Donna Tredway and a niece, Christine Tredway.
A private memorial service for family and close friends was held on May 13 at 11:30 a.m.
