| Gwendolyn G. Bickford, 78, of Onslow died on Thursday, November 28th at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa. Gwen's family received friends and family on Sunday, December 1 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lahey's Funeral Home in Wyoming. A 3:00 P.M. Service of Remembrance was held on Monday afternoon at the Funeral Home in Wyoming, with burial in Clay Cemetery.
Gwen Hildebrand was born on May 19, 1935 in Ely, Nevada, daughter of Earnest and Lois (Titus/Pilkington) Hildebrand. She married Dale Bickford on March 23rd, 1953 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She had been employed with Clinton Engines in Maquoketa, John Deere in Dubuque, Parsons Technology, and Collins Radio in Anamosa. She and her husband had owned and operated Onslow Grocery in Onslow, until it was sold in 1991.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, fishing, gardening, hunting mushrooms, but most of all spending time with her family.
Gwen is survived by her husband of sixty years, Dale of Onslow; three daughters; Carol (Randy) Cress, Linda Bickford, and Dee Ann Bell, all of Anamosa; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, seven brothers and sisters.
