CORNELIUS HIRTZ

Funeral services for Cornelius Hirtz, who was killed last Wednesday afternoon (May 16th) when he was crushed beneath the wheels of a tractor, were conducted Friday morning at nine o'clock at St. Peter's church, Tcmple Hill. It was one ot the largest funerals ever held at the church. Rev. J. J. Hehir officiated both at the church and the grave and interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.
The death of Cornelius Hirtz was not only a distinct and sorrowful shock to his legion of friends but a great loss to this and the Temple Hill territory. This young man was a credit to his family and the entiire community in which he lived. He was of excellent character and reputation, in the prime of young manhood he was a hard worker, intelligent, generous, likeable, industrious and promised to be one of the outstanding young farmers and citizens of this community. During his high school days when he attended the East Cascade High School and his associations afterward, ho made friends without number who hold for him the fondest of memories and mourn with the deepest of sincerity, with his family, his passing. To them is extended the heartfelt sympathy which is borne only through honest love and high regard.
