| Kathryn C. Sweet, 76, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Olin, Iowa, died Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Heritage Nursing Home in Cedar Rapids.
A celebration of her life was held on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin, with Pastor Pat Slater officiating.
Family and friends called from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin. Burial was in the Hale Cemetery, Hale, Iowa.
Kathryn Carol Hoffman was born September 10, 1933, in Hale, Iowa, daughter of George and Etta (McGuire) Hoffman.
She married Marvin Paulsen. She then married Kenneth Sweet. He preceded her in death. She had worked in a restaurant, was a bartender, and did home care for the elderly until her retirement.
She is survived by one son, Donnie (Julie) Paulsen of Olin; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Rob), Benjamin and Tara; and one sister, Velva Zirkelbach of Lisbon.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, her parents, two daughters, two sisters and two brothers.
