Richard Allen "Dick" Hoffman

Richard "Dick" Hoffman, 59, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
His funeral service was Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 11:30 A.M. at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming. Visitation was from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, also at Lahey Funeral Home. Burial was at Wyoming Cemetery.
Richard Allen Hoffman was born on October 7, 1955 in Monticello, to parents Allen and Reva (Taylor) Hoffman. He was united in marriage on February 14, 1976 to Karla Gross at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa. He was a CNC operator and welder, drove truck for CPS and was a bartender. He was a member of the Bow Hunters Club in Anamosa and The Sportsman Club in Dyersville.
He had a passion for Vietnam War Veterans and POW, working on the Moving Wall eight times. He loved baseball and played in leagues. He loved camping and sitting by a fire surrounded by people he loved. Richard and Karla often loved to travel with their kids and grandkids. Richard had visited forty-four states.
Dick is survived by his wife, Karla, his children: Jessica (James) Brink of Maryville, TN, Colby (Daisy) Hoffman of Cedar Rapids, T. J. (Megan) Hoffman of North Liberty, and Shawna (Rick Hanover) Hoffman of Cedar Rapids; and his grandchildren; Levi, Jared (Amy Potter), Caleb, Seth, Melody, Kaydence, Bayleigh, Dalton, and Logan. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
