| Marjorie Holub, 90, of Monticello, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Monticello Nursing Home.
The family has honored her wishes for cremation and funeral services will be held at a later date. Lahey Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Marjorie Muriel was born on March 16, 1924 to John and Marjorie (Taylor) Holmes in Onslow, Iowa. She was united in marriage with Arthur Holub on July 19, 1940 in Elkader. Marjorie worked for the Anamosa Dress Shop, Marshall Printing, and was a homemaker while farming with her husband. She enjoyed gardening, reading, day trips and spending time with her grandchildren.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Steve (Cindy) Holub of Delmar, daughter-in-law, Sharon Holub of Anamosa, four grandchildren; Matthew Holub (Anjalie Summers), Robert Holub, Kim Peck and Jeff (Linda) Holub, five great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, and sisters, Joyce Farrington of Prairieburg and Dorothy Lange of Olin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her son Charles, and sisters; Patricia Sobotka, Wilma Hurt, and Mary Jones.
