Matie Idell Howard Ireland

Dies In Colorado
Word was received Saturday evening of the death of Mrs. Newton Ireland, Denver, Colo., after a brief illness. The former Matie Howard was born in Clay township north of Onslow, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Howard.
After her marriage she made her home around Onslow and Cedar Rapids, going to Colorado about five years ago on account of her health. Surviving are her husband, her mother, Mrs. Belle Howard, and sister, Mrs. Carrol Bickford, both of Onslow, and a sister, Mrs. Leo Allen, Wyoming. Her son, father, three sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at the Beatty chapel, Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. Allan Schoff, Cedar Park Presbyterian church, in charge. Burial was made in the family lot in Cedar Memorial cemetery, beside her son.
Number of relatives and friends attended the service from Onslow.
Only a month ago Mrs. Ireland came to attend funeral service for her brother-in-law, the late A. L. Ames, and spent a week with her mother and sisters.

Matie Ireland, former Cedar Rapids resident for many years, died Saturday after a brief illness at her home in Denver, Colo., where she has lived the last ten years.
The body will be brought to Cedar Rapids early Tuesday. Services will be conducted in the Beatty chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Allan Schoff of Central Park Presbyterian church. Burial will be in the family lot in Cedar Memorial cemetery.
Friends may call at Beatty�s after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Surviving, besides her husband, Newton Ireland, are her mother, Mrs. Belle Howard of Onslow, and two sisters, Mrs. Leo Allen of Wyoming and Mrs. Carroll Bickford of Onslow.
