Geraldine Mae Ireland Schladetzky

Geraldine M. Schladetzky, 94, of Olin, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa, Iowa.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery, rural Anamosa, Iowa.
Geraldine Mae Ireland was born May 12, 1916, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Lee and Addie (Beebe) Ireland. She graduated from Anamosa High School in 1934. She married John Schladetzky on May 26, 1938, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He died on September 10, 1973.
She taught country school in Jones and Linn Counties.
Geraldine was a member of the Olin Community United Methodist Church, Olin, the Hazel Green Homemakers Club and enjoyed playing cards, reading and sewing.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen (Web) Temple of Jacksonville, Alabama, and Geralyn (Chuck) Hansen of Anamosa; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, Marvin Jacobs of Monticello.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, one sister, and a great-granddaughter.
