Kenneth R. Jeffery

Kenneth R. Jeffery, 67, of Wyoming, Iowa, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
A celebration of his life was held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2010, at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming, with the Rev. Keith Larson and AIM Barbara Tobiason officiating. Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming. Burial was in the Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction, Iowa.
Kenneth R. Jeffery was born on December 6, 1942 in Anamosa, Iowa, son of Kenneth D. Jeffery and Frances Marie Fritz Jeffery Kuehl. He graduated in 1961 from George Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. He married Mona Kay Benhart on June 16, 1962 at the United Methodist Church in Oxford Junction, Iowa.
He worked with Hayden Funeral Home in Olin and Northwestern Bell. He also worked in assembly for Harnischfeger for twenty-two years, and retired from Star Buildings in Monticello in 2008.
Kenny was a member of the Wyoming Fire Department for twenty-seven years, and served on Little Bear Country Club Board. He enjoyed the "great outdoors", hunting, fishing, golfing, woodworking, and spending time with his sons and grandchildren. Kenny was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cub fan.
He is survived by his wife, Mona Kay Jeffery of Wyoming; three sons, Ty (Diane) Jeffery and Todd (Rhonda) Jeffery of Wyoming, and Tim (Tricia) Jeffery of Shellsburg, Iowa; six grandchildren, Sammi, Jared, Jenna, Kyla, Laura and Michael; brothers and sisters, Gaylard (Marilyn) Jeffery and Sharon (Melvin) Latare of Oxford Junction, Judy (Jim) O'Grady of Oak Lawn, Illinois, and Randy (Nancy) Kuehl of Anamosa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
