Anna Jensen Sauer

Anna Sauer, 96, of Olin passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Her funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Lahey Funeral Home in Olin at 7:00 p.m. A visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m. before the service. Burial will be held at the Olin cemetery at a later date.
Anna was born on January 29, 1921 in Wyoming to Thomas and Kjestine (Lausen) Jensen. She graduated from Onslow High School in 1939 as class valedictorian. She married Marion “Pete” Sauer on February 14, 1940. They moved to Olin in February of 1947. She worked at Collins Radio Company for 25 years.
Even at the age of 96, Anna lived independently on her own. She was a member of the Olin American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards and to embroider. She dearly loved her grandkids.
Those left to cherish her memories are three children; Randy (Kathy) Sauer of Olin, Kenny Sauer of Mt. Vernon, and Tanner (Karla) Sauer of Olin, ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, son, Bradley, two daughters; DeeAnn Shors and Dixie Morgan Abt, and four brothers; Jens, Bruno, Tom and Fred.
