Larry Ray Jensen

Larry R. Jensen, age 73, Center Junction, died Sunday, July 26, 2015, at St. Luke’s Unity Point Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held at 11 Thursday morning, July 30, 2015 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where friends called from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Interment was in the Oakwood Cemetery with military honors. The Rev. Wade Reddy officiated at the services.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra; a son, Mark (Teri Every) Cedar Rapids; a sister-in-law, Donna (Steve) Leytem, Monticello, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents; a son, Mike, in 1999; two brothers-in-law, Bob and Ron Stutt; and his grandparents, Fred and Dora Martens and Louis and Catherine Stutt.
Larry Ray Jensen was born May 5, 1942, at Anamosa, Iowa. He was the son of Jens and Frieda (Martens) Jensen. Larry was a member of the last graduating class of the Onslow High School in 1960. He worked as a farm hand before enlisting in the U. S. Army in 1961. After his discharge from service in 1964, Larry worked for Square D and Cargill in Cedar Rapids and farmed near Center Junction. For sixteen years, he operated the R.J. Station Bar and Grill in Scotch Grove and in retirement he was a bartender at the North Side in Monticello.
Larry and Sandra Stutt were married in 1973 and had two sons, Mark and Mike. Larry was a member of the American legion Post 528 in Cascade.
