Mary M. Johnson Holzworth

Mary M. Holzworth, 87, of Olin, Iowa, died Friday, September 18, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
A memorial service was held on Monday, September 21, 2009, at 3:30 p.m. at Wyoming United Methodist Church in Wyoming, Iowa. Friends called on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the service time at the church.
The family has honored her wishes and her body has been cremated. Lahey Funeral and Cremation Service in Olin was in charge of arrangements.
Mary was born September 13, 1922, at home half way between Monmouth and Baldwin, Iowa, to Harry and Angeline (Edwards) Johnson. On June 23, 1964, she married Richard O. Holzworth. She loved people and enjoyed working in retail until her retirement when she opened her own "End of the Lane" gift shop in Shellsburg, Iowa. She was a member of the White Lily Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Mary spent her later years working crossword puzzles, enjoying her grandchildren, visiting with her kind neighbors, and sitting on her wrap-around porch.
Survivors include two sons, Benjamin (Judy) Prusia of Raleigh, N. C., and Edward (Phyllis) Prusia of Lee's Summit, MO; a sister, Evelyn Hansen, and a brother Howard (Norma) Johnson, both of Maquoketa; fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Angeline Johnson; two husbands, Floyd B. Prusia and Richard O. Holzworth; a daughter, Mary Jayne Ross; seven sisters, Ruby Duemong, Helen Shady, Harriet Ehlers, Lillian Campbell, Mildred Hansen, Martha Stender and Sally Carstensen; two brothers, Eli Johnson and her twin Harry Johnson, Jr.; and one grandson, LaVerne Prusia.
