Ruth Kasper Podhasky

Funeral services for Ruth Podhaski, 78, were held Monday, June 8, at Goettsch Funeral Home, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Hannemann officiated at the services.
Ruth Podhaski of Monticello died Friday, June 5, at the Delaware County Memorial Hospital, Manchester, following an extended illness.
Ruth Kasper was born July 29, 1913 at Anamosa, the daughter of Rudolph and Meta (Schoon) Kasper. She received her education in the Anamosa schools where she graduated. Ruth later taught in the rural schools of Anamosa.
Ruth Kasper and Carroll E. Podhaski were married June 17, 1933 at Galena, Illinois. The couple made their home in Monticello where Mr. Podhaski was a mail carrier. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1962. She later worked at the Poplar Heights Supper Club. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Monticello.
Survivors include five daughters, Janice Brokens of Des Moines, Joan Barton and Mary Ann Robins, both of Monticello, Shirley Otten of Anamosa and Sharon Kutcher of Oxford; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
