John G. Krouse Jr.
Services Held Thursday
Funeral services for the late John G. Krouse are being held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Goettsch funeral home, Rev. Glenn McMichael, Methodist minister has charge of the services. Interment will be made on the family burial plot at the Wyoming cemetery.
Krouse was born in Madison township March 14, 1870, a son of John G. Krouse and Jane (Wasson) Krouse. He grew up in that township, attending the rural schools and later attended the Onslow high school. He studied telegraphy and railroading and served as station agent and operator for the Northwestern railroad at Monmouth for twenty years. Thereafter, he was employed by the Milwaukee at Monticello for fourteen years, and during the world's fair was station agent and night operator at DeWitt.
He was married to Della Williamson in Scotch Grove township September 20, 1893. They would Have celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary next September had Mr. Krouse lived. One son was born, Ira E. Krouse of Washington, D.C., who will be present at his father's funeral. Krouse is also survived by a brother and sister, W. B. Krouse and Mrs. Daisy Steyne, both of Cedar Rapids.
He had been in failing health for the past twenty months with a serious case of heart trouble and other complications.
