Fredda Lang Ketelsen
June 10, 1900–December 12, 1986
Services were held December 15 for Fredda Ketelsen, 86, at the Presbyterian Church in Center Junction, with burial at the Oakwood cemetery in Monticello. Rev. Ken Baughman officiated at the services.
Fredda Ketelsen, Center Junction, died December 12 at John McDonald Hospital, following a period of declining health.
Fredda Lang was born June 10, 1900, near Sand Springs, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Richarts) Lang. She received her early education in the rural schools near her home. She later attended Lenox College at Hopkinton. Fredda worked in several homes in Monticello before she was married.
Fredda Lang and John Ketelsen were married September 29, 1920, at the Presbyterian Church in Monticello. The couple farmed near Center Junction. John died in 1933, and Fredda continued to operate the farm and raise her family there.
Fredda was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Center Junction, where she was also a member of the UPW. She was also a member of the Garden Club, Happy Hour Club and an honorary member of the Federated Women's Club.
Fredda is survived by their three children, John Ketelsen of Marion and Ruth Glenn and Don Ketelsen, both of Center Junction; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; a sister, Caroline Poeschl of Venice, Florida; two brothers, William Lang of Monticello and Edward Lang of Watertown, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, and two grandsons.
Caskethearers were Dennis Ketelsen, Ken Ketelsen, Randy Ketelsen, Mark Ketelsen, Gene Ketelsen and Ron Ketelsen. Honorary bearers were Steven Glenn, Gary Ketelsen, Lynn Ketelsen and Von Ketelsen.
Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, was in charge of the arrangements.
