Herbert J. Lehrman, 99, of Olin, Iowa, died Monday, September 3, 2012, at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2012, at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Marion, Iowa, with Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. Friends called from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin. Burial was in the Stanwood Cemetery, Stanwood, Iowa.
Herbert was born January 27, 1913 in Cedar County, Iowa, to Paul and Ida (Luedemann) Lehrman. He attended Stanwood School. He married Florence Mardorf on August 21, 1935 in Stanwood, Iowa. She preceded him in death on November 4, 1985. He married Ila Howell on June 25, 1994 in Maquoketa, Iowa. She preceded him in death on September 6, 2009.
Herbert was a farmer and from 1956 to 1983 was an implement dealer at Lehrman Equipment for twenty-seven years in Olin and Wyoming.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Marion.
Herbert is survived by his children, Marlyn (Julie) Lehrman of Wyoming, Betty (Paul) Bendixen of Marion, Elaine (John) Gallus of Delano, Minnesota, Everett (Georgia) Lehrman of Marion, and Joyce (Tom) Doll of Onslow; sixteen grandchildren and thirty-five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by six step-children, many step-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Jackson of Clarence; two brothers, Melvin Lehrman of Mechanicsville and Arnold (Doris) Lehrman of Stanwood; and a brother-in-law, Lawrence Siebels of Mechanicsville.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Florence and Ila, his parents, and two sisters, Alma Hansen and Louise Siebels.
