Kathleen Ruth "Katie" Leibold Harms

Kathleen “Katie” Harms, 92, died peacefully Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Pinicon Place following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 24, 2018 at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church with interment in the Wayne Zion Cemetery. Friends called after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Goettsch Funeral Home has been entrusted with Katie’s services.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Eddie in 1996; four siblings and spouses, Mary Margaret (Leon) White, Marcella (George) White, LaVerne (Mary Lee) Leibold and Veronica (Bud) Weber; her brothers-in-law, Henry, Albert, John, Herman and Carl Harms, and a sister-in-law, Molly Osterkamp.
Kathleen Ruth Leibold was born September 17, 1925, on a farm near Hopkinton. She was the daughter of George and Mary Elizabeth (Pins) Leibold. She attended the rural schools near her home. Kathleen Leibold and Eddie W. Harms were married on August 28, 1947, at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church rural Monticello. The couple made their home in Anamosa where Katie worked at the Iowan Hotel. She was later employed at Emerson Electric in Anamosa before she retired. In retirement the couple enjoyed traveling.
Katie always loved to listen to Eddie play the accordion or the organ. She enjoyed playing cards with neighbors and friends.
