In the 74th Year of His Age
|DIED At his residence, near Anamosa, on the 9th inst., Oliver Lockwood, Esq., in the 74th year of his age.
The subject of this notice was one of the early pioneers of this county, and was extensively and favorably known. His enterprise and sterling integrity at once secured the confidence and esteem of all his very numerous acquaintances. For more than half a century he was an honored member of the Methodist Episcopal church. At his home the ambassadors of Christ of every order always received most courteous welcome. He leaves the companion of his youth and partner of his life, three sons and two daughters to mourn, but not without hope. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bowman in the M.E. church on Tuesday the discourse being ....
