Lloyd Edward Lorenzen

Lloyd Lorenzen, 70, died Saturday, November 18, 2017, at the Jones Regional Medical Center, following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 2017, at the First Congregational Church, Anamosa, with interment in the North Madison Pioneer Cemetery, Center Junction. Pastor Sue Schneider-Adams will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 – 7 p.m., Friday, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.
Surviving is his wife, Carol, of forty-seven years; his children: Angela (Joe) Christensen, Matthew (Robin) Lorenzen, both of Center Junction, and Nicholas Lorenzen of Orlando, Florida; his grandchildren, Jacob Matthew Lorenzen, Ian John Lorenzen and Jordan Leigh Lorenzen; and his sister, Emily (Gary) Burton, of Huntingtown, Maryland, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Lloyd Edward Lorenzen was born February 26, 1947, at Anamosa. He was the son of John Henry and Rosemary (Zirkelbach) Lorenzen. Lloyd graduated from the Midland Community Schools with the class of 1965. He went on to attend Iowa State University. Lloyd started farming in eighth grade after his father became ill. Lloyd and Carol Hunter were married on June 7, 1970, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Wyoming.
Lloyd was a member of the Center Junction Coop Coffee Club, a member of the Center Junction Fire Department and Farmers Mutual Coop. He was a 4-H leader for the Royal Rustlers and a youth group leader at the Center Junction Presbyterian Church. Lloyd loved to fish, hunt and watch NASCAR. He especially enjoyed giving kids rides on his tractor or combine and spending time with his family.
