Jacob Lozier
April 9, 1845–March 13, 1931
ONSLOW (special)—Jacob Lozier died Friday morning, March 13, at the home of Mrs. Nettie Alberry, where he has been cared for during his last illness.
Mr. Lozier was born in Ohio , April 9, 1845. When a small boy he came to Iowa with his parents, his mother dying soon after their arrival here. He was cared for in homes of strangers during his early childhood in Iowa.
At the age of seventeen he enlisted in the service of the Civil War and was honorably discharged three years later.
In 1868 he was married to Miss Ophelia Cooley. Two children were born to them; Mary and John. Mrs. Lozier and Mary died later, during the same year. John died in April 1927.
Mrs. Lozier is survived by one brother, Samuel, of Jackson county, one grandson, Gilman Lozier, and Mrs. John Lozier of Cedar rapids.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church, Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock with the reverend W.P. Nicholas of Wyoming in charge. Burial was made in South Mineral Cemetery.
