Hilda C. Luckstedt Hora

Hilda C. Hora, 93, of Elk River, MN, formerly of Wyoming and Iowa City, died on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Guardian Angels Care Center, Elk River, after a short illness.
Family services were held on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Washburn & McReavy Funeral Chapel in Coon Rapids, MN. Cremation rites were accorded and burial will be in the Wyoming Cemetery at a later date.
Hilda Christina Luckstedt was born on November 5, 1914 in Jones County, Iowa to William and Anna (Lesch) Luckstedt. Hilda graduated from Wyoming High School. She married Leonard G. Hora on March 9, 1939. They farmed in Cedar and Jones counties for several years before moving to Wyoming. Hilda worked as a cook for the Midland School District. Following the death of her husband in 1973, she moved to Iowa City and worked as a sorority cook at the University of Iowa until her retirement.
She was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Wyoming and later at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Iowa City. Hilda did volunteer work at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. She had resided at Guardian Angels Care Center since 2004.
Surviving are 3 sons, Galen (Christina) of Andover, MN, Gordon of Spring Valley, WI, Jerry (LouAnn) of Maquoketa, IA, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Raymond and Clarence, and 1 sister, Viola.
