Darrel William Malone

Darrel Malone, 53, of Olin, Iowa passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015. A memorial service celebrating Darrel's life was held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 at The Hale Supper Club in Hale. Darrel's memorial service was led by Rev. Dick Thomas of Cottage Grove Place, Cedar Rapids. There will be no visitation per Darrel's wishes. The family is honoring Darrel's wishes to have his ashes spread throughout the area by the boat dock on Jungletown Road, at a later date. The Family request that all family and friends who attend please dress warm and casual.
Darrel William Malone was born on June 26, 1961 in Wichita, Kansas to Harley (Bill) and Glenna Malone. He graduated from Olin High School in May of 1979.
He served his country in the United States Air Force and then returned to the Olin area where he began a career as a plumber. He was united in marriage on May 18, 2002 to Carrie Johnson.
Darrel is survived by his wife Carrie, his daughter Christina Johnson (Larry Thomas), granddaughter Jadeyn (his little Peanut) and grandson Greyson (his little Monkey), his mother Glenna Malone (Jim Sanders), his sister Debbi (Wendell) Crawford of West Chester, Ohio, and niece Lezley-Ann Crawford of Dallas, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father Harley (Bill), his brothers David and Douglas, his niece Lisa Marie Malone, and grandparent's Alvis Frazier, Peter and Odessa Grant and Harley and Mary Malone, Sr.
