| Rodney Eugene Merritt, 52, died Friday, December 7, 2018, at home, following a brief illness.Private services for the family will be held at a later date and burial will take place in Jordan’s Grove Cemetery, Central City. Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa is helping the family with arrangements.Rodney was born on July 13, 1966, in Anamosa, the son of Robert and Shirley (Taylor) Merritt. He attended Anamosa Schools. He was self-employed as a carpenter. He enjoyed riding around the countryside in his truck and visiting family and friends.He is survived by his father, Robert, of Anamosa; sisters, Vicki Mull of Monticello, Mary (Jason) Franks of Anamosa and Tanya (Tim) Kruger of Anamosa; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley in 2017, and his grandparents.
