|Frieda M. Benhart, 84, of Wyoming, passed from this life with her daughters at her side at the Anamosa Care Center on Thursday, November 13, 2008.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming, with the Rev. Margaret Debner officiating. Burial will be in the Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming.
Frieda Mae Miller was born on June 5, 1924 in Massillon, Iowa, daughter of Albert Nicolaus and Frieda (Eiler) Miller. She attended school in rural Cedar County. She married Rayman Benhart on December 18, 1941 in Clarence, Iowa. He died December 3, 1993.
Ray and Frieda spent their adult life farming, dancing and playing their favorite game of bingo. She was a member of the Oxford Junction Garden Club, Hale Golden Rule Club, ZCBJ Lodge #22 of Oxford Junction and Progressive Club of Iowa. She loved her trips to Onslow to have coffee with her friends and quilting with the Lutheran ladies in the winter. She also loved planning her special parties for her many card clubs and was an avid Cubs fan. Frieda's hands were always busy with her many hobbies thru the years making many crafty items and her most unusual cakes for many occasions. She also enjoyed making special ceramic pieces for herself and others at her ceramic shop.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mona Kay (Kenny) Jeffery of Wyoming, Mary (Joe) Cruise of Monticello; seven grandchildren, Ty (Diane), Todd (Rhonda) and Tim (Tricia) Jeffery, Jay (special friend Stacy), Scott (Cathie) and Jeff (Beth) Cruise and Donna (Jimmy) Harmon; three step-grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters and one brother.
