Wanda Moore Petersen

Wanda Petersen, 85, of Hale, Iowa passed Tuesday, February 25th, 2014 at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin, Iowa. Friends and family may call on Friday from 3 - 7 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home, Olin. Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery following services Saturday.
Wanda was born to Alfred and Katherine (Hinrichs) Moore on February 7th, 1929. She married Robert Wayne Petersen on November 13th, 1946 in Oxford Junction. She worked at Clinton Engines and was also a homemaker. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, bluegrass music, dancing and traveling. Wanda was a member of Olin Legion Auxiliary and the Golden Rule Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Connie (Darwin) Betzer of Wyoming, and Kathy (Richard) Close of Springville; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Colleen (Gary) Townsend of Mechanicsville, Roberta Christiansen of Wellman, Gloria Bodkin and Marlene Levsen, both of Olin; brothers, Merlin (Carolyn) Moore of Anamosa, Larry (Annie) Moore of East Moline, Illinois and Carlyle "Butch" Moore of Mechanicsville; and special friend Gale Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Robert Jr., and Steven, siblings Harlan, Sam, Tip, Carol Bendixen and Rich.
