John (Jack) Milton Moran
May 18, 1928–January 25, 2011
John (Jack) Milton Moran was born in Dubuque County, Iowa May 18, 1928 to James P. and Myrl (Hardin) Moran and died January 25, 2011.
John had lived on the family farm near Onslow in his younger years and graduated from Onslow High School in 1946. He then served in the U. S. Air Force for four years during the Korean War. Upon being discharged, he attended the State University of Iowa, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He retired from Roche Pharmaceutical in 1985, but continued as an engineering consultant until 1995. His work took him to many states and countries for his employers.
John married his high school classmate, Vivian Calloway Hay in 2004. She survives him. His children include Elizabeth (Craig) Nordland of Doylestown, PA and Peter (Heidi) Moran of Absecon, NJ; grandchildren Megan, Katherine, Kristen, Sarah; and various step relatives. Also surviving are a brother, James Raymond; sister Kathleen (Jack) Menster; brother-in-law, Eugene McElmeel; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Marjorie; grandson, Jarrod Nordland; sister, Mary McElmeel; brother, Kenneth; and his beloved dog, Champ.
He was a devoted member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth, PA for many years, and more recently, the Church of the Assumption in Galloway, NJ. He had participated in the Holy Family Club and Paradise Choir, Society of Mechanical Engineers, Veterans of Foreign Wars and East Lawn Social Club.
Services were held in Galloway, NJ, with burial in the Holy Family Cemetery in Nazareth.
