| Berniece Violet (Nichols) Vogel passed away on January 29, 2019, at the Anamosa Care Center in Anamosa.Berniece was born October 22, 1915, at the Cheyenne Agency in Dewey County, South Dakota. Her parents were George and Eve (Houston) Nichols of South Dakota. She was 103 and a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux tribe.Berniece is survived by a grandson, Mike (Treva) Wilkey of Lakewood, Colorado; great-granddaughter, Haley Fordham of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and several great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; son, Tom; daughter, Carole Ann; and granddaughter Cara.Beniece worked at Ellisworth Air Base as a secretary most of her life.Berniece, her daughter Carol Ann and granddaughter Cara will all be taken in the spring to be laid to rest in South Dakota.
