Wesley Donn Nissen
July 16, 1981 – October 21, 2017
Wesley D. Nissen, 36, of Monticello, Iowa, passed away on Saturday afternoon, October 21, 2017, from injuries received in a motorcycle and van accident near Springville Iowa.
Friends and family may gather in remembrance of Wesley from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 27, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, where a 5:30 p.m. prayer service will be held. Cremation has taken place and a private burial will be held at a later date from the Oakdale Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa.
Wesley Donn Nissen was born July 16, 1981, in Maquoketa, Iowa, to John Junior and Connie Lee (Waters) Nissen. He had attended Midland High School. He married Kendra Stanton on September 11, 2010, in Maquoketa, Iowa.
Wesley was a jack-of-all-trades. He had worked for Foam Rubber in Monticello from 2007 to 2013, then for Liberty Tire for four years. He most recently started working for Orbis in Monticello as a machine operator.
Wesley was always busy doing something. He loved riding his Harley and was a member of the Midwest Motorcycle Mafia. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and liked going to auctions. He adored his son Corbin and loved spending time with him, especially playing remote control cars.
Those left to honor Wesley’s memory include his mother, Connie Nissen of Bernard, Iowa; son Corbin Nissen; sisters Kayleen (Todd) Barten of Maquoketa, and Kristen Hagemann of Maquoketa; brothers Tom Nissen of Bernard and Jens (Paula) Nissen of Des Moines, Iowa; his wife, Kendra Nissen of Monticello, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Jens, Drake, Dakota, Landen and Walker Barten, all of Maquoketa, Maddie and Gabbie Hagemann, both of Maquoketa, Rodney John Nissen of Wyoming, Iowa and Kaden Nehl and Jordyn Hoff, both of Guttenberg, Iowa; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carrie and Kenny Stanton of Scotch Grove, Iowa; and sisters-in-law, Brandi (Steve) Hoff of Guttenberg, Cortney (Joe) Dirks of Anamosa, Iowa, and Lynsey (Kyle Gates) Stanton of Anamosa.
He was preceded in death by his father John Junior Nissen, and brother Donny.
