Jennie Orr Elwood

| ONSLOW – Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie (Orr) Elwood, 77, were held Friday. Mrs. Elwood was reared near Onslow, but for many years had lived in Lime Springs. Since the death of her husband, Fred Elwood, in 1930 much of her time had been spent in Des Moines with daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Elwood were married in 1881 and nine daughters were born to them, eight of whom lived to maturity. Surviving are Mabel Elwood, Parkersburg; Lois, Des Moines; Lucille, Des Moines; Mrs. Fred Thomas, of Watertown, Washington; Mrs. Evan Williams, Des Moines; Mrs. Joseph Cary and Mrs. Loren Johnson of Lime Springs. She is also survived by four granddaughters and four grandsons and by two brothers, Sam of Jackson, Michigan; and Herb of Onslow. Pallbearers were Howard Willison, Kenneth Kennedy, George Paulsen, Squire Ripperton, Will Ritenour and George Sears. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery.
