| Nancy J. Kress, 75, of Clarence died Friday, January 9, 2015 at Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral Services were held January 13 at 11:00 a.m.at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence with Reverend David Means officiating. Burial was at Dayton Valley Cemetery, Clarence. Visitation was 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Nancy was born October 8, 1939 at Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Russell Orr and Jeanette (Hunter) Orr. She married Ronnie Kress on August 3, 1963 in Onslow. He died April 27, 1996. Nancy ran the JNG Cafe in Onslow with her mother from 1953 - 1963. She worked in the Jones County Courthouse for five years and the Clarence Savings Bank for twenty-two years. Nancy enjoyed antiquing, dancing, shooting pool and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.Survivors include her sons, Rodney (Julie) of Clarence and Jeffrey (Jennifer) of Eldridge; and grandchildren, Logan, Taylor, Carson and Keaton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and step father, Gordon Sawyer.
