Edwin Wayne Parker

Edwin Wayne Parker, 74, of Martelle, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Cedar Rapids.
Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, where the family greeted friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Burial was in Norwich Cemetery, Martelle.
Ed was born September 8, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Stanley and Jennette (Schafer) Parker. He attended school in Martelle. On October 13, 1963, he married Irene Rose Foley at Oxford Junction United Methodist Church. Together they operated their own farm, and Ed also drove grain trucks. He retired in November of 2017.
He was a member of the United Methoidst Church, Martelle and a former volunteer fireman at the Martelle Fire Department. He lived to farm and work and could be found doing odd jobs around the house in his spare time.
Those remembering him are his wife of fifty-four years, Irene; sons, Dave (Jane) Parker and Alan (Kelli) Parker, all of Martelle; grandsons, Joshua Parker, Jared (Sierra) Parker, Joel Parker, Zachery Parker and Jamie Parker; great-grandsons, Kayden Parker, Easton Parker, Kyler Parker and Huck Parker; a sister, Barbara Prescott, Kansas; a brother, Donald (Gail) Parker, Marion; and his mother-in-law, Lucile Homan, Anamosa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ronald; and a sister, Marilyn Yiesley.
