Rose Marie Parker Takes
February 23, 1944–May 28, 2015
Rose Marie Takes, age 71, of Monticello, died Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Silvercrest of Anamosa following a long battle with dementia.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello with interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends called from 4 until 8 Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello where a parish Vigil Service was held at 4:00. Father Paul Baldwin and Deacon James Pasker officiated at the services.
Goettsch Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Surviving are her husband, L. J.; two children, Terri (Aaron) Tallman, and Tony (Lindsay) Takes, all of Monticello; a foster son, Dennis Riesberg; five grandchildren, Ethan, Ty, Layni, Olivia and Jonathan; her siblings, Claudine (Carl) Staner, Verna Mae Glavin, Dorothy (Jerry) Peterson, John (Shirley) Pasker, and James (Mary) Pasker. Also surviving are Sarah and Tayrn Schoon. She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Madison Tallman, a foster child, Tina Marie Betzer and a brother-in-law, Terry Galvin.
Rose Marie Parker was born February 23, 1944 at Manchester, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Luella (Dingbaum) Pasker. Marie graduated from the Ryan High School in 1962. She went on to work at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids. Marie and L. J. were married on November 26, 1966 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. The couple farmed near Monticello and Marie also was the bookkeeper for Takes Electric. Marie loved her life on the farm but mostly loved being a grandma.
