Lloyd T. Petersen was born April 24, 1928 to Nellie and Dewey Petersen in Martelle, Iowa. He married Betty Kernen on July 1, 1950 and they lived in Monticello, Stanwood and Wyoming before settling in Anamosa.
Lloyd served in the Army during the Korean War and was very proud of the time he served his country. He loved sharing stories of his time in the military with his children and grandchildren. Lloyd worked for Energy in Monticello, Stamos Furniture in Tipton, and then was very proud to work for the Anamosa Reformatory as a correctional officer until his retirement. When Lloyd had free time, you could bet he was looking for the perfect fishing hole.
