Robert Downey “Bob” Peterson
October 22, 1930 – December 11, 2018
Bob Peterson passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at home in Cedar Park, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa. This is where Bob and his wife, June, were married sixty-six years ago.
Bob was born on October 22, 1930, in Bachelor of Arts degree from Iowa State Teachers College and a Master's Degree from Drake University.
After serving in the Army during the Korean War, he pursued a career in education. He was a teacher and guidance counselor at Hiatt, Franklin and Roosevelt High School.
Bob enjoyed reading, playing golf, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing bridge and cribbage. After moving to Cedar Park, he volunteered at Treasure of the Hills Activity Center.
He met June Hults at Iowa State Teachers College, and they were married on August 24, 1952. They lived in Des Moines until 2010 when they moved to Cedar Park, Texas.
Bob is survived by his wife, June; sons, David (Deb) and Mark; daughter, Julie; grandchildren, Tyler (Julie E.) Peterson, Caitlin (Brandon) Davis and Nicole Pagliai; sister-in-law, Betty (Bob) Hora of Anamosa; brother-in-law, Bill (Nancy) Hults of Manchester; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elinor Guderian and Meda Tregenza; brothers-in-law, LeRoy Guderian and Vin Tregenza.
