| Gainesville—Wanda May Peterson Riggs, R.N., 86, resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in the E. T. York Hospice Care Center, following a long illness.
Mrs. Riggs was a native of Center Junction, Iowa, born July 1926 to the late Martin and Anna Peterson. She was a registered nurse, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a Lieutenant. Mrs. Riggs retired from the Gainesville V.A. Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Donald Riggs, of Gainesville, two sons, Joseph N. Riggs, of Tampa, and John F. Riggs, of Powder Springs, GA.
Graveside funeral services with full military honors will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 9:30 A.M., in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
