Vernice Louise Pierce Law

Vernice Louise (Pierce) Law, 84, of Oxford Junction, Iowa died peacefully at her home March 13, 2014. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at a later date.
Vernice L. (Pierce) Law was born on November 1st, 1929 to Franklin and Mable (Kaufman) Pierce in Bethel Township, Fayette County. She married Harry W. Jaw Jr., on August 7th, 1948 in Waucoma. Vernice taught for over twenty years, first at an Amish School and later in Oxford Junction. She was a member of the Oxford Junction Library Board for twenty-five years, the WELCA Church group, a 4-H Leader, and attended St. Mark's Lutheran Church. In her free time Vernice loved sports, especially girls' high school basketball, and was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs.
Vernice is survived by her daughter Wendy (Greg) Kastner of Robinson, IL, her daughter-in-law Michele Law of Frankfort, IL and grandchildren Emily (Jake) Spitz of Chicago, IL and Michael Law of Mt. Vernon, her sisters-in-law, Anna Stober of Bokeelia, FL and Ellen Law of Coon Rapids, MN, and several nieces and nephews.
Vernice was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Terry and Richard.
