|Nelda J. Koppenhaver, 98, of Clinton passed away, April 15, 2017, at the Alverno.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zoring Funeral Homes & Crematory.
Nelda Jean Porter was born on March 19, 1919, in Anamosa, the daughter of J. Eugene and Grace (Ireland) Porter. She was a 1936 graduate of Anamosa High School. She married John Koppenhaver on February 25, 1939 in Anamosa. He died on September 23, 2002.
Nelda worked in the Clinton County Treasurers office for several years before retiring. She attended Prince of Peace Catholic Church and was a member and past president of the Izaac Walton League and Tri-S.
Nelda is survived by two daughters; Karmen Ketelsen of Clarence, and Kathleen Clark of Joliet, Illinois; a son Dale (Terry) Koppenhaver of Clinton; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Karen, one brother, two sisters and a great-grandson.
