Services were held Saturday, July 31 for Marguerite E. Tobiassen, 76, in the Wayne Zion Lutheran church, with burial in Wayne Zion Cemetery, Monticello. The Rev. Harvey O. Gilbertson conducted the services.
Marguerite E. Tobiassen, wife of Andrew J. Tobiassen, died at St. Luke Methodist Hospital, Cedar Rapids, on Wednesday night, July 28, after an illness of several weeks.
Marguerite Elizabeth Postel was born near Anamosa on December 30, 1905. She was the daughter of Lemuel Postel and his wife Louisa (Patnode) Postel. She had received her early education in the Anamosa area schools and later taught in the rural schools of Jones County.
Marguerite Postel and Andrew J. Tobiassen were married on October 25, 1930 in Cedar Rapids. Following their marriage they made their home in Anamosa and later several eastern states prior to returning to Anamosa in 1948. The couple moved to Monticello in 1971. Mrs. Tobiassen was a member of the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Tobiassen is survived by her husband and a daughter, Mrs. Ann Ketelsen, Monticello. She is also survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a brother, Robert Postel, Anamosa, and four sisters, Mrs. Edna Tarbox, Anamosa, Mary, Mrs. Carl Morning, Monticello, Gertrude, Mrs. Charles Arthur, Purvis, Mississippi, Florence, Mrs. Ed Pospishil, Central City. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and a sister.
