Joyce Ann (Potter) Dusanek, 74, of Iowa City, formerly of Anamosa, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service time at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids.
Lahey Funeral & Cremation Services in Wyoming is in charge of arrangements.
Joyce Ann Potter was born March 8, 1935, in Monticello, Iowa, to Ralph and Ann (Julifs) Potter. She graduated from Anamosa High School in 1953 and attended Iowa State Teachers College and Upper Iowa University.
She married Donald Dusanek on June 25, 1954, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Wyoming, Iowa.
Joyce was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a wonderful grandmother. She loved spending time with her entire family, sharing stories and taking annual trips with her college friends. Joyce had the soul of an artist, and her creations have beautified the homes of her friends and family for many years.
She was a kindergarten teacher. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, and Paint 'n Palette Art Club.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Dusanek of Iowa City, one daughter, Dori (David) Pirkl of North Liberty; one son, Darin Dusanek of Los Angeles, California; two grandchildren, Addison & Emma Pirkl; and a brother, Gary Potter of Anamosa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
