Emil Gerhard Prull

Services for Emil G. Prull, 69, were held Dec. 21 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Monticello. Burial followed in the Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Harold L. Naig conducted the services.
Emil Prull died suddenly at his home in Monticello Dec. 17 after a weeks' illness.
Emil Gerhard Prull was born in South Fork Township, Delaware County, on Sept. 14, 1912. He was the son of John Prull and his wife Helena Freisner Prull.
Emil had received his early education in the Monticello area schools and was a graduate of the Monticello High School in 1931. He had continued his education through the years and attended the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Coe College, Cedar Rapids, and the University of Iowa, Iowa City.
Mr. Prull had operated a beauty shop in Monticello for a number of years, and had taught in the rural schools near Monticello. He then taught in the Monticello Community Elementary Schools prior to his retirement four years ago.
He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Monticello, and had served in the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lettie Slauson, Williamsburg, Va., a step-sister, Mrs. Lizzie Herman, Anderson, Ind. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, a step-mother, and three brothers.
Casket bearers were Kevin Prull, Steven Prull, Daniel Wagner, Thomas Heims, Dwayne Prull, James Heims and Joseph Prull.
