Prusha H. Randall Bingham
1815–February 28, 1900
The funeral of Mrs. Prusha H. Bingham, whose death was noted last, week, was conducted by Rev. Warner, at the Congregational church, Friday morning. Mrs. Bingham's maiden name was Randall. She was born at Windom, Vermont, in 1815, and was married July 4th 1833, to Elihu Bingham. The early married life of the couple was spent in New Hampshire. In 1856 they settled on a farm in Wayne township, this county, and in 1864 they removed to Monticello. Mr. and Mrs. Bingham were the parents of six children all of whom survive with the exception of one. The husband died February 7th, 1875. After his death she provided a home for her sisters until their marriage, and divided her time between her children in Monticello and Boston. The last nine years of her life wore spent with her daughter Mrs. W. H. Parrott, at this place. The infirmities of ago crept upon her with advancing years, and during the last two or three years she was confined to to the house. Her mind remained clear and she enjoyed reading the current news until a short time before the end. She failed rapidly during the last few months, and in January failed to recognize her sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Norcross of Keota, Iowa, who was with her during her last days. In early life she became a member of the Baptist church, and during life put her trust in the Savior. Mrs. Bingham died February 28th, at the age of nearly eighty-five years.
