Pauline Schoon Husmann

Pauline Husmann, age 92, died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the Anamosa Care Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 Thursday morning, September 19, 2013 at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. Friends called from 4 until 7 Wednesday at the Goettsch Funeral Home. Rev. Ellery Dykeman officiated at the services.
Surviving is a son Nile (Judy) Husmann, Center Junction; three grandsons, Lance (Sharon), Kolin and Bryan; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nelda Mead, Center Junction, Evelyn Paulsen, Monticello; two brothers, Leland (Donna) Schoon, Marion, and Neil (Pat) Schoon, Anamosa; a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph (Doris) Husmann, Monticello. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Merle on September 29, 1996, a granddaughter-in-law, Pam, four sisters and three brothers.
Pauline Schoon was born January 25, 1921 in Jackson Township, Jones County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Laurence and Lizzie (Ricklefs) Schoon. Pauline was a graduate of Anamosa Community Schools.
Pauline Schoon and Merle Husmann were married on April 19, 1941 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa. The couple lived in Cedar Rapids until October of 1942 when they moved to a farm near Center Junction. They operated Center Junction Soil Service from 1947 until retirement in 1977. She was a member of Wayne Zion Lutheran Church where she was baptized. She confirmed her faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa. Pauline enjoyed quilting at Wayne Zion and going fishing and dancing with Merle.
