Rites Conducted
For Mrs. Folkers

WAYNE—Funeral services were conducted from the Wayne Zion Lutheran church Saturday, December 24, for Mrs. Rena Folkers, 73, who died at Mercy hospital in Anamosa Thursday, December 22. Mrs. Folkers suffered a fractured hip October 2 from which she never recovered.
Interment was in the Wayne Zion cemetery.
Rena Margaretha (Schoon) Folkers was born September 28, 1882, the daughter of John and Mary (Poppe) Schoon. She was married to John Folkers February 13, 1903 by Pastor Mardorf.
Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Carl (Hattie) Dirks; four grandchildren, Maldean and Murva Dirks, Donna and Patricia Folkers; two brothers, Thomas Schoon of Amber, Fred Schoon of Minneapolis, Minnesota, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Tobiason and Mrs. Meta Caspers of Anamosa. Her husband, one daughter and one son preceded her in death.
Casket bearers included Andrew Tobiason, George E. Rickels, Henry Rickels, John Folkers, H. W. G. Folkers and Carl Folkers.
