John Heinrich Seba
August 3, 1865–November 21, 1901
Mr. John H. Seba, a farmer residing a half mile from Sand Spring, died last Friday, the 22nd inst. after an illness of two weeks' duration. The deceased was 36 years old. He was a native of Oldenburg, Germany, and came to the United States in 1882. He is survived by a widow, whose maiden name was Freese, and a son 12 years old. The funeral services were conducted last Saturday, by Rev. 0. Mardorf, and interment was had in the Bowens Prairie cemetery. Mr. Seba's friends speak well of him as a man and citizen. They also express their sympathy for the widow and her young son.

Note: There is no stone at Bowens Prairie, but there is one next to his wife at Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello. His obituary says he died November 22, but the stone says November 21.
