Edna Lorraine Sejkora Freeman

Edna L. Freeman, 95, of Olin, Iowa, died Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Solon Nursing Care Center, Solon, Iowa. Funeral services to celebrate her life were held on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin. Friends called from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin. Burial was in the Olin Cemetery, Olin, Iowa.
Edna Lorraine Sejkora was born January 26, 1917 in Walker, Iowa, the daughter of Stanley and Clara (Zabokrtsky) Sejkora. She graduated from Walker High School. On June 27, 1943, she was united in marriage to Howard Freeman in Marion, Iowa. He died on July 16, 2004.
Edna and her husband farmed north of Clarence for over sixty years. She was a member of Olin Community United Methodist Church, Farm Bureau, Unity Club and Card Club. She was petite in size but a hard working farm partner. She always put others before herself. She enjoyed cooking, dancing and Big Band Music, gardening, and her flowers, especially gladiolas. Her favorite color was red; she chose it in flowers, cars and tractors.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice Hartwig of Long Grove and Gail Freeman of Clarence; one son, Farrel Freeman of Redwood City, California; two grandchildren, Heath (Micki) Hartwig and Kent (Megan) Hartwig; and two great-granddaughters, Shelby and Bailey Hartwig.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister and one brother.
