Berniece N. Sell Bearinger
August 17, 1916–December 7, 2009
Berniece N. Bearinger, 93, of Wyoming, Iowa, formerly of Onslow, Iowa, died Monday, December 7, 2009, at her home.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming, where friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the service time. Burial will be in the Wyoming Cemetery, Wyoming, Iowa.
Berniece Sell was born August 17, 1916, in Wilton Junction, Iowa, to Otto and Eva (Osborn) Sell. She attended Laurel Hill and Buchanan country schools. She attended Tipton and Springdale High School and graduated from Springdale in 1933.
Berniece married John Stafford in February of 1940 at Muscatine, Iowa. They had three children, Robert, Guy and Beverly. John died in October of 1948.
She later married Donald J. Bearinger on June 26, 1955, in Davenport, Iowa. They had two children, Joyce and Bruce. Donald died on January 25, 2003.
Berniece worked at the Automatic Button Factory in Wilton and the Bendix Aviation Plant in Davenport.
She enjoyed reading, music, her flower garden, and her dog, FeFe.
She is survived by four children, Beverly (Dennis) Carstensen of Wyoming, Joyce (Steve) Westphal of Lenox, Guy Stafford of Wyoming, and Bruce (Eileen) Bearinger of Oelwein; thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Betty Swailes of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, one son, Robert in 1989, and one brother, Ralph Sell.
