Elmer Shoaff, 81, of Oxford Junction, Iowa passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015.
Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Mayflower Cemetery in Oxford Junction, Iowa. Friends and family called on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction.
Elmer was born on September 6, 1933 in Iowa City to parents John and Amanda (Ruchotzke) Shoaff. He was united in marriage to Rosemary Joslin on June 22, 1955 in Lowden. He worked for Clinton Engines in Maquoketa, Iowa for twenty-seven years and for Stickels in Anamosa, for seven years. Elmer was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Oxford Junction. He was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 63 in Oxford Junction in his earlier years. He enjoyed woodworking and made a lot of toys for his family.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Rosemary, his children; Jade (Randy) Derynck of Clarence, Debra Shoaff of Clarence, Donna (Jeff) Carroll of Oxford Junction, Jolynne Walter (Larry Elher) of Oxford Junction, and Tara (James) Lorenzen of Clinton; nineteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, a great-great grandchild and his sister LaVon Benischek of Wheatland.
He was preceded in death by his son, Brian "Louis" in 2000, a sister, Edna, parents and two great-grandchildren.
