Donald Frederick Sigmund

Funeral services for Donald Sigmund were held Saturday, Feb. 10, 1990 at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Anamosa. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Billy Duay officiated. Military graveside services were held at the cemetery. Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa was in charge of arrangements.
Casket bearers were William Ruhl, Charles Fairbanks, Jack Paschall, Dick Kurtz, William O. Carlson, and Tom Welch. Donald Sigmund, 75, of rural Anamosa, died Feb. 8, at the family home after a short illness. Donald Frederick Sigmund was born June, 5, 1914 in Cedar Rapids, the son of the late Fred Sigmund and Edith Harrison Sigmund. He was married to Laurabell Kohl on June 27, 1936 in Cedar Rapids. He was a farmer, blacksmith, a machinist and was self-employed. He served in the Army, was a pilot, and an instructor during World War II. He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, the Anamosa American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Laurabell, and a son, Dennis. He was preceded in death by his parents.
