Richard Keith Smith Jr

Richard Smith, Jr., 61, died Friday, April 6, 2018, at his home following a battle with cancer.
A celebration of life was held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018, in the Rotary Lodge at the Wapsi State Park, Anamosa. Goettsch Funeral Home has taken Rick into their care.
Surviving are his wife, Vickie; his mother, Mattie Lorene Clark; step-father, Willard Clark; four children, Keith, Stacy, Samantha, and Steven; three step-children, Christopher, Tara and Jodi; nineteen-grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; his siblings, Vera, Laurie, Mark, Karla and Rodney. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard, and a sister, Karen.
Richard Keith Smith Jr. was born May 25, 1956, at Anamosa. He was the son of Richard and Lorraine (Thomas) Smith. Rick received his education in the Anamosa schools. Rick had worked as a millwright and at Corn Sweeteners, Profile Plastics, and M&W Manufacturing.
Rick was an avid fisherman and hunter. In the past few years, he had taken up flint knapping, the art of making arrow heads, knives and spearheads from stone.
He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
